Dr. Leyvee Cabanilla-Jacobs is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontology and Hygiene at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines (U.P.) and her DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Cabanilla-Jacobs also holds a Certificate and Master’s Degree in Dentistry from Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she majored in Periodontics with a minor in Oral Pathology.
For several years, Dr. Cabanilla-Jacobs has taught diagnosis, treatment planning, and periodontal surgery to both dental and dental hygiene students. She has also been involved in teaching the Pain and Anxiety course for dental hygiene students, which makes her especially skilled at ensuring her patients are comfortable and pain-free.
Due to her extensive clinical knowledge and warm demeanor, Dr. Cabanilla-Jacobs is highly regarded by patients, particularly those in need of gum surgery and dental implant placement.
